A Certified Digital Marketing Professional from the Digital Marketing Institute (UK), Joy did Bachelor’s degree with majors in Psychology and Communication with UNISA. He later did his Master’s degree at Syracuse University (USA) and is currently finishing his doctoral studies at the Open University of Mauritius.  Mr Joy Beesoon started his career in the educational-audiovisual sector at the Mauritius College of the Air, where he later worked as a Coordinator/Producer, involved in programme design, scriptwriting and production of programmes for schools, TV broadcast and for the public at large. He produced more than 100 programmes in various formats ranging from documentaries, short reportages to studio-based programmes in less than 4 years. He was awarded the Fulbright scholarship by the U.S. Dept of State to undertake postgraduate studies in Media Management at the Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University, New York. Afterwards, he joined the Open University of Mauritius to head its Marketing and Public Relations Unit since its inception. He has also been involved in teaching Audiovisual Production and Journalism as a part-time lecturer in other universities for more than 10 years.
