Meera Gungea is a lecturer in Sociology at the Open University of Mauritius (OU). She holds a degree in Social Studies and master’s degree in Business Administration with specialisation in Human Resources Management. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her main roles as an academic include teaching, supervision and moderation of dissertation, conducting research, programme development and manual writing. She is also Programme Manager of the Social Work programmes at OU. ,p>Her area of interest includes sociology of the family, industrial sociology and teacher and student behaviour in online and distance learning.
